Become a scaffolder
The training centre "ERGON" organises professional training courses for people who intend to obtain a licence to work as a scaffolder. In order to take up this profession, you must first undergo vocational training and pass an examination. The licence for scaffolders is issued by the Institute of Construction and Rock Mining Mechanisation in Warsaw.
Scaffolders are workers who are responsible for the correct assembly of scaffolding and its subsequent dismantling. Their main task is to take care of the scaffolding structures, which must be stable and safe. In order to start working as a scaffolder, you must be able to read technical drawings and site plans, which is essential knowledge if you want to start working in this position.
Our training programme
The training consists of two phases, a theoretical part and a practical part during which you will be properly prepared to work with scaffolding.
Theoretical part:
- construction of different types of scaffolding,
- division and function of scaffolding,
- familiarisation with health and safety rules,
- site organisation,
- familiarise yourself with the technical documentation that you will be using during your work.
Practical part:
- scaffolding assembly and dismantling exercises,
- securing the work area correctly in accordance with the rules,
- learning the tasks involved before, during and after the work,
- activities for carrying out proper structural health checks.
Who can start the course?
Our training courses are designed for a wide range of people, from individual tuition to organised group tuition. The programme is designed so that the entire profession can be taught from the basics of doing it. Anyone wishing to start classes with us must meet the following requirements:
- completion of 18 years of age,
- having a minimum of primary education,
- no health contraindications from a doctor.
For those who wish to undertake the course, we can assign another point that is very individual, namely that the employee should not have a fear of heights. Before the candidate starts the course, he or she will first be referred for an examination, during which a doctor will determine whether the person can perform this type of work. Namely, this will involve working above a height of 3 metres, as this is the most important thing that applies to this occupational group. Above and beyond this, the scaffolder must be physically fit, as climbing scaffolding requires a lot of strength.
What are the medical contraindications?
These include:

What is scaffolding?
Scaffolding is a structure usually made of metal, and allows access to high structures. Scaffolding is usually made up of vertical support poles on which horizontal poles are fixed. A platform made of planks is placed on top of these. In modern constructions, the deck is made of lightweight metal prefabricated elements. The vertical posts are made of steel tubes.
