About us
Come to our ERGON Personnel Improvement Centre and take advantage of our course offerings including HDS cranes, fibre optics welding, as well as forklift and mobile platform operation and maintenance. Our qualified instructors will prepare trainees for the UDT exam. The course is divided into theoretical and practical parts and ends with an UDT qualification exam, after passing which the candidate receives a qualification certificate necessary to operate HDS cranes.
Requirements for the candidate
To participate in our training, you must meet the basic requirements such as:
- at least 18 years of age,
- at least primary education,
- no health contraindications to work as a HDS crane operator or maintenance person (certificate from an occupational physician).
Entitlements
In order to work as a crane operator or maintainer, it is necessary to complete a course and pass an examination before a board appointed by the Office of Technical Inspection. The examination verifies the candidate's knowledge and skills in the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment. After the examination, the UDT issues the candidate with a qualification certificate. The qualification obtained makes it possible to operate or maintain all types of portable, mobile or mobile cranes both in Poland and abroad.
Training programme
The course programme we have developed includes topics such as:
- practical classes on equipment,
- information on technical supervision,
- administering first aid,
- construction of hydraulic truck cranes,
- knowledge of the operation of crane safety devices,
- selection of slings and determination of their technical condition,
- cargo weight estimation,
- responsibilities of the equipment operator,
- knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Common operator errors
The most common shortcomings that occur in the work of an HDS crane operator include, first and foremost:
- incorrect distribution of supports,
- inadequate positioning of the vehicle during operation,
- use of a defective device,
- inappropriate selection of slings,
- use of worn out or damaged slings.
Types of cranes
There are several types of cranes. The division of these devices is as follows:
- handling cranes - equipment that has a built-in operator's cab at the rear of the vehicle,
- general-purpose HDS cranes - Their use is wide-ranging and their advantages include the ability to transport loads quickly, as they are mounted on the chassis of a vehicle,
- handling cranes - The boom is positioned just behind the driver's cab,
- cranes of the timber industry - have grapples instead of hooks; the grapples pick up pieces of felled trees. Thanks to their small size, these types of telehandlers are ideal for use in the timber industry,
The strengths of HDS cranes, the basics of the equipment
With HDS cranes, we have little problem transporting bulkier containers, machinery or building materials. In some industries, such as the broader construction sector, employees cannot imagine working without this machine, as it offers a great many possibilities for unloading or loading. Undoubtedly, its large crane is an asset that undoubtedly influences the transport of heavy loads. In addition, the fast movement on the roads of this machine eliminates most of the problems.
